Some of the best safari opportunities in the world are found here, across a landscape made up of volcanic grasslands and vast plains interrupted by rocky outcrops, rivers, and forests. Visiting the right area in the right season will treat travellers to astonishing sightings of this natural phenomenon. These migratory herds also attract the attention of some of the continent's most renowned predators, ensuring that if travellers are following the Migration; big cats, crocodiles, and hyenas will never be too far behind.

Itinerary

DAY 1 :
ARUSHA TO NDUTU

You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and head towards the Ndutu region. Its a six hour journey and soon you will notice the landscape changing from hilly forests to plain and green grasslands. Sweeping grasslands cover the region which gradually fades into the Serengeti. Once we reach Ndutu, we'll enjoy a picnic lunch.

Ndutu forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle. During game drives at the right season between December and April, you will be able to see the fertile plains turn into wildebeest calving grounds. This big wildebeest nursery attracts hordes of predators that prey on vulnerable young wildebeest. Crested with Ndutu Lake and Lake Masek, these waterholes offer plenty of wildlife sightings during the dry season. The Ndutu is also home to 6 species of wild cats; leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval and wildcat.

The afternoon game drive will be action-packed and as the sun sets, we will head to either Ndutu Tented Camp where dinner and your bed awaits. Ensure you get a good rest to recharge yourself for another eventful day.
