MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Today we’ll head to the magnificent Lake Manyara National Park. This park is known for its 400+ bird species, primate-filled forests, and grassy plains and even though it is one of Tanzania’s smallest national parks, it definitely packs a punch. A mesmerising variety of animals are attracted to the alkaline waters of the huge lake including buffalos, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, groups of noisy monkeys and baboons. Highlights include spectacular views of the Rift Valley Escarpment, the shallow Hippo Pool excellent for up close and personal hippo sightings, thousands of pink flamingos and if you are lucky, the famous tree-climbing lions. We’ll head to our luxury lodge just after sunset and enjoy a delicious al fresco meal listening to the quiet hum of the wilderness.

DAY 3:
LAKE MANYARA TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast we leave Lake Manyara and we head for the Serengeti National Park. It’s a six-hour journey and we'll pause as we enter the reserve so you can get your first glimpse of the Ngorongoro Crater. Serengeti actually means “endless plains” in Swahili. The Serengeti covers an area of 14 763 square kilometres and watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merge with the sky at the horizon is absolutely breathtaking. Your first game drive in the Serengeti will take place in the late afternoon and where you'll experience the famous Serengeti sunset. As night falls, we might get lucky to find a predator hunting or on a kill. We'll then head to …………….. for the night.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner
DAY 4:
SERENGETI NATIONAL
PARK (FULL DAY)
A full day with morning and afternoon game drives to explore the plains of the famous Serengeti National Park.
It’s not only the endless plains that are breathtaking. The abundance of wildlife in the Serengeti National Park is unsurpassed and hundreds of thousands of animals have made this pristine and unique sanctuary their home. It is also home to the “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard) as well as Africa’s most beautiful animal – the impala. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa.
If you are lucky to visit at the right time of year, you’ll witness the Great Migration where millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the plains of the Serengeti in search of greener pastures. Apart from the migratory animals, you’ll also see lots of other animals, like cheetahs, wild dogs and a variety of plains game. You can’t but be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park. If you fancy a different experience, we’ll book you a balloon safari (for your own account). There is nothing quite like drifting silently above the plains of the Serengeti.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner
DAY 5 :
SERENGETI TO
NGORONGORO CRATER
After a very early breakfast, we’ll leave our lodge and head to the Ngorongoro Crater where we’ll make the 600-metre descent in a 4WD vehicle into the crater often referred to as Africa’s Eden and the 8th Natural Wonder of the World. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera and measures 22.5 kilometres across and a massive floor of about 260 square kilometres with rim walls that stand 600 metres high. Views from within the crater and from the rim are breathtaking. The crater is home to 30 000 animals and is home to black rhino, cheetah, lion, leopard, elephant, wildebeest, zebra and birds like ostrich, vultures and flamingos. Keep your camera at the ready as the crater will show you plenty of animal action.
We’ll have lunch at the Ngoitokitok Hippo Pool and after a sundowner game drive we'll head to our accommodation where we will be spending the next two nights.
